What?
Demon Beasts are mining?
Hearing this, everyone froze on the spot.
Humans mined because they understood Artifact Refining and needed ore for materials.
Demon Beasts don’t know Artifact Refining, so why would they be mining?
A fat subordinate snapped, "Skinny Monkey, make sure you saw it clearly before you open your damn mouth. Don’t just spout nonsense."
’Did this kid take the wrong medicine or something? Is he hallucinating?’ he thought.
Demon Beasts mining?
Who would believe that?
Skinny Monkey pointed at several mining Demon Beasts and said aggrievedly, "If you don’t believe me, then go see for yourselves."
At first, he also thought he was hallucinating.
So, he rubbed his eyes several times.
But every time he opened his eyes, he saw the Demon Beasts mining, and with great effort too.
"Fine, I’ll look. If I find out you’re deceiving Young Master Ren Fan, I’ll have him skin you alive."
The fat guy walked over to Skinny Monkey and looked in the direction he was pointing, his face full of disbelief.
But the next second, he was dumbfounded.
There really were several Demon Beasts mining.
The fat guy rubbed his eyes in disbelief and muttered, stunned, "Am I hallucinating too? Impossible, I didn’t take any weird medicine."
"What? You’re hallucinating too?"
Ren Fan was completely baffled.
He could understand Skinny Monkey hallucinating by himself, but for two people to be hallucinating at the same time was highly unusual.
"Young Master Ren Fan, you should come take a look for yourself,"
the fat guy suggested.
Ren Fan nodded, then walked forward and peered into the depths of the cave. Sure enough, he saw several Demon Beasts mining.
This time, Ren Fan completely lost his composure.
’What the hell is wrong with these Demon Beasts?’
’Instead of focusing on their Cultivation, they’ve all gathered here to mine.’
’This is fucking unbelievable.’
Just then, the Demon Beasts noticed Ren Fan and his group. "Huh? How did you humans get here?" one asked in surprise.
"Hmph. We found our own way here,"
Ren Fan said coldly. "I order you to drop the ore in your hands and leave my mine immediately. All the ore here is mine."
Hearing Ren Fan’s words, the Demon Beasts all frowned.
’Has this guy lost his mind?’
’We were clearly the ones who found this ore, and we’re the ones who opened up this mine. How did it suddenly become this kid’s?’
"Scram! I don’t have time to deal with you."
"If that senior hadn’t ordered us not to kill you, you’d already be torn to shreds."
"If you don’t get lost now, don’t blame us for getting rough."
The Demon Beasts all revealed ferocious gazes, baring their teeth and glaring at Ren Fan and his men.
Now, Ren Fan was in a difficult position.
It seemed these Demon Beasts were dead set on protecting this ore vein.
Ren Fan asked in a low voice, "What do you guys think? Should we just leave and find another ore vein, or should we fight them and drive them out?"
"Well... I think it’s better if we leave."
"Right. These are all Tier Three Demon Beasts, and there are more than a dozen of them. They’re not only stronger than us, but they also outnumber us. We can’t beat them."
"A wise man doesn’t fight a losing battle!"
The men all chimed in.
"Alright, we’ll leave."
Ren Fan’s face was full of frustration.
After all the trouble of finding a profitable ore vein, it had been taken over by Demon Beasts.
It was so damn infuriating.
But what could he do? As unwilling as he was, they couldn’t defeat these Demon Beasts.
Just as Ren Fan was about to leave, Skinny Monkey stopped him. "Young Master Ren Fan, did you notice? These Demon Beasts are all crippled."
What?
’They’re crippled?’
Ren Fan looked over at the Demon Beasts and saw that they were indeed missing limbs.
Instantly, Ren Fan’s eyes lit up.
"These Demon Beasts are all crippled! Let’s team up and kill them."
"Hahaha! I thought we couldn’t beat them, but it turns out they were already crippled by someone else. This is our lucky day."
"Whoever crippled so many Tier Three Demon Beasts must be a real big shot."
"Who cares if they’re a big shot or not? These Demon Beasts are ours now."
Ren Fan and his men were incredibly excited.
’Who can’t beat a bunch of cripples?’
Ren Fan roared excitedly, "Brothers! Kill these crippled Demon Beasts! We’ll take their cores, roast their meat, and have a feast! Kill them!"
"I’d like to see you try!"
Just as they were about to attack, a two-headed lion emerged from the depths of the cave, staring coldly at them.
"Holy shit! That’s a Tier Four Two-headed Black Lion!"
"Run!"
The moment they saw the Two-headed Black Lion, everyone was scared stiff. Cold sweat poured down their bodies as they scrambled to flee in a panic.
However, in the next second, the Two-headed Black Lion blocked their path.
THUD!
Ren Fan’s knees buckled, and he dropped to the ground, begging for mercy. "Lord Black Lion, I beg you, spare me! I’ll never dare to have designs on you again!"
"Now you’re begging for mercy? Too late!"
The Two-headed Black Lion stared coldly at Ren Fan and his men.
In truth, it had noticed them the moment Ren Fan entered, but due to the Ink Flood Dragon’s orders, it couldn’t be bothered to deal with them.
Who knew these idiots wouldn’t know what’s good for them and would actually try to seize the mine they had worked so hard to open.
They even wanted to kill the Demon Beasts for their cores and roast their flesh.
Who could tolerate that?
If the Ink Flood Dragon hadn’t forbidden them from harming humans, it would have slapped these mutts to death long ago.
The Two-headed Black Lion said in a cold voice, "I can spare you, but you have to hand over all the Treasures on you."
"Ah..."
Ren Fan was completely stunned.
’A Demon Beast robbing people?’
Faced with the Two-headed Black Lion’s icy gaze, Ren Fan had no choice but to take out his Treasures and present them to it.
The others quickly followed suit.
The Two-headed Black Lion took the Storage Rings from Ren Fan and his men, weighed them in its paw, then handed them to the Demon Bear with the broken leg. "Put all these Treasures away. When we’re done mining, we’ll present them to that senior together."
"Yes, sir!"
The Demon Bear took the Storage Rings and asked in a low voice, "Should we kill them? They were just trying to kill us for our cores, after all."
"Sigh..."
The Two-headed Black Lion sighed and shook its heads. "Let’s not. If we kill the wrong people, not only will we be in deep trouble, but even the Divine Beast Lord will be implicated and slapped to death by that senior."
"But we can’t just let them go like this,"
the Demon Bear said, dissatisfied.
The Two-headed Black Lion thought for a moment. "How about this: let’s make them stay and mine in our place. The more ore we dig, the happier that lord will be."
"Hehe, that’s a great idea."
The Demon Bear turned to Ren Fan and ordered, "Kid, you heard the Black Lion Demon King. What are you waiting for? Get your men over here and start mining for us!"
"What? You want us to mine?"
Ren Fan refused. "No way. Absolutely not."
He was the young master of a major power, a respectable figure. How could he do manual labor for a group of Demon Beasts?
If word of this got out, how could he ever show his face in public again?
Hearing this, the Demon Bear’s face immediately darkened.
’This kid actually dares to refuse.’
SLAP!
The Demon Bear slapped Ren Fan hard across the face and roared, "You refuse, do you? I’ll beat you until you’re willing!"
The Ink Flood Dragon said they couldn’t kill people, but it never said they couldn’t beat them.
