Chapter 1076: The Origin Of Endless
Northern nearly buckled under the strain. With everything cascading through him, his attention threatened to fracture when he latched onto something crucial.
But instead of allowing the division, Northern simply forged a parallel stream of consciousness to handle it, while maintaining his focus and trance-like state—else the whole process would have shattered.
Something profound and electrifying was unfolding within the Demon of Change, Demon of Emulation, All Eyes, and the Seed of Endless.
Their evolution wasn’t the familiar transformation he’d grown accustomed to witnessing.
It felt more like a single evolution had triggered a cascade, sparking an intricate web of connection with Endless as the foundation. Demon of Emulation and Change seemed to be woven into a living vessel, and that vessel itself was All-Eyes.
All-Eyes was the one evolving—like a ravenous vortex of power that devoured everything in its path, dragging fragments of Omniform and the very marrow of his soul into its hungry maw.
Because of its evolution, the others were being swept into a forced metamorphosis.
[The Seed: Origination of Endless is Blooming]
And here... this blindsided Northern completely.
He hadn’t expected the seed to bloom with such ferocious speed. Was it even conceivable that the seed could unfurl so rapidly?
’Moreover, I thought I carried the seed of Tyranny? When did it become the seed of Origination?’
His parallel mind stuttered to a halt, struggling to digest the torrent of transformation surging through him.
’Could this mean I’m becoming an Origin? When I haven’t even reached Zenith?’
Northern almost laughed—a cold, incredulous sound—because how in the blazes was that possible?
Although no written path existed for becoming an Origin, no human had ever achieved it. Only alien races that had long since transcended humanity bore that distinction—Northern had confirmed this with his newfound knowledge about the Mourgens.
So he’d naturally assumed one had to become a Zenith first, shatter human limitations before even glimpsing the path to Tyranny. He hadn’t even dared dream becoming an Origin was possible.
Since Origins were the genesis of concepts themselves.
But that very reality answered his doubts. Endless had begun with him. Yet could he truly claim to be the genesis of Endless? That seemed breathtakingly arrogant.
But the fact that this was happening spoke for itself. Something monumental was stirring.
Amidst the tempest of Change raging through his eyes, Northern could feel something fundamental reshaping his body and soul.
’No... it’s Omniform and Unwritten.’
The realization struck him like lightning. Omniform and Unwritten were already reconstructing his entire being, their activities swept up in the evolutionary maelstrom that devoured everything in its wake.
The vortex of power reached its thunderous crescendo, and Northern felt the final surge tear through his very essence. His parallel thought stream collapsed back into singular focus as the transformation completed itself with devastating finality.
At that moment, he could no longer maintain the trance and was violently expelled from it. The force was so crushing that he went hurtling backward, smashing into the undulating walls of the subterranean chamber.
Buried beneath rubble, Northern’s eyes remained closed for a heartbeat.
[Demon of Change has evolved to Tyranny of Change]
[Demon of Emulation has evolved to Tyranny of Emulation]
[All-Eyes has evolved to Infinite-Eyes]
[Congratulations, the nature of your soul has changed]
[You have become an Origin]
[The nature of your body has changed]
[The nature of your name has changed]
[Unwritten is spreading its wings]
[The essence of your true name is being woven into the nature of your soul as an Origin. Now you can wield it at will]
[You can learn the names of things, you can give things names, and you can strip away their names.]
Northern slowly exhaled as he opened his eyes.
His eyes had transformed utterly—his irises now blazed with an intense, crystalline blue, layered with faint concentric rings that shifted like living things even when his gaze remained still.
They carried an unnerving razor-sharpness—cold, calculating, and predatory—as if they could dissect everything they beheld into its most fundamental components. A single glance felt less like being observed and more like being weighed and measured.
And his vision had changed too. It was as though veins of information, stratified into countless realms, flooded his consciousness. The sheer volume of what he was seeing and comprehending was staggering.
To be precise, the names he was instantly absorbing... there was a terrifying multitude of them, yet simultaneously, his mind felt boundless, infinite.
It felt like an endless river of thoughts, merged into one singular flow that could be separated at will to isolate any stream he desired.
Northern felt so... utterly inhuman.
In that moment of processing the overwhelming flood of perception, new information materialized.
[Due to the nature of your soul, all sentient visitors that are not aligned with this nature are being purged]
’What?’
Northern’s brow furrowed.
If it meant visitors, this could include Void. If his soul purged Void and everyone dwelling within his soul, that could spell disaster—Kryos would absorb Void and would undoubtedly claim victory in whatever cosmic struggle was unfolding.
But Northern knew of no way to halt whatever was already in motion.
As a matter of fact, nausea was beginning to claw at his stomach. That had to be significant.
Northern gripped the stone beneath him to push himself upright, but it crumbled to dust beneath his touch.
Eyes widening, he stared at his hands.
’I’ve grown even stronger?’
He certainly had.
But he still needed to flee from Kryos as far and fast as possible. With deliberate restraint, he attempted to stand, but the fractured underground beneath him crumbled further still.
He levitated with the grace of a weightless feather and shot upward. He frowned momentarily at the thought of punching through the earth’s crust to reach the surface.
But then Northern discovered he knew the name of the earth’s crust. And so, he spoke to it:
"Open."
Instantly, a savage chasm yawned wide above him, carving a direct path to the surface. Northern was stunned by what he could accomplish.
He was also smiling... awestruck. And hungering to do more.
He knew the name of distance, and so he commanded it:
"Excuse me."
In an instant, he moved. He wouldn’t call it movement—it felt like he had always been there, floating above the frozen wasteland he’d created, patches of it molten and blazing.
As his feet touched the ground, a screech like glass shards tearing through his skull assaulted his mind. He squeezed his eyes shut and staggered.
By the time he managed to steady himself, blood was trickling from one nostril.
Northern touched it and examined the crimson drops with a frown. His body was buckling under the strain of wielding such staggering power.
’Limitations of the human body.’
That meant if he continued unleashing his abilities, his body could tear itself apart.
But the troubling part was that he didn’t even think he was tapping his Origin powers—he didn’t even know what they were. This was merely the force of understanding his true name.
Northern narrowed his eyes.
’Could it be that my true name has remained dormant all this time because of my body and soul’s limitations?’
Could that also mean he was destined to become an Origin from the very beginning?
What in the world was happening?
Northern’s mind reeled with confusion.
But he still needed to put as much distance between himself and Kryos as possible, before the Origin of Madness and Chaos sensed Void’s liberation and devoured it whole.
Northern’s gaze sharpened with deadly focus, and he took flight.
