Chapter 1187 - 687: Ris Becomes the Center of Attention
Lonely Mountain City, Iron Hammer Workshop,
The atmosphere in the entire Lonely Mountain City has been tense for a while.
Even the usually carefree Dwarves have noticed something amiss.
Recently, soldiers of the Dwarf Royal Court and temple divine servants have been patrolling around the city, seemingly looking for something.
However, when the Dwarves learned that what was being searched for was a Day Elf, many eased their minds.
In other regions of the Fanor Continent, elves were frequently seen.
But in the Dwarf Kingdom, except under extremely special circumstances, elves usually don’t come here.
For Dwarves, they generally don’t like elves.
Dwarves have considerable hostility towards elves, so seeing Day Elves causing trouble in Lonely Mountain City seemed rather normal to them.
But, no Dwarf knew exactly what was going on.
At the Iron Hammer Workshop, the Dwarf Royal Court and temple people also came by to inspect the place.
While Lis was "resting," with Tomun and the Iron Hammer Workshop’s assurance, they just gave a cursory glance and left.
After all, they were searching for a Legendary Day Elf, not something that could be related to a Dwarf who is a Forging Master.
But since then, two guards from the Dwarf Royal Court have been stationed at the entrance of the Iron Hammer Workshop.
Perhaps because the Heart of Molten Fire is the most important place for Forging Masters in the Dwarf Kingdom, the kingdom feared that the Legendary Day Elf’s target might be the Forging Master or some particular work.
So in Lonely Mountain City, all places like the Iron Hammer Workshop have people specially assigned to protect them.
This is to prevent anyone from forcibly entering such places again.
Of course, this had no effect on someone like Lis, who was already seen as "one of their own."
The Iron Hammer Workshop recently became rather lively, mainly because of Lis, a Forging Master whose age defies belief.
...
"Lis!"
Lis was in the materials area of the Iron Hammer Workshop, choosing various materials for forging equipment, when he heard Nidir’s voice ringing by his ear.
He turned around and saw Nidir rushing in hurriedly from outside.
"Lis, why did you suddenly come here without telling me first?"
"Grandpa Tomun said that after continuously forging that Legendary Long Sword, you surely consumed a lot of energy and effort."
"So don’t be too busy during this period, and take a good rest."
Nidir looked at Lis and said somewhat anxiously.
After Lis completed the forging of that Legendary Long Sword, she had seen Lis’s extremely haggard expression.
Even as a Forging Master, creating a Legendary Level weapon or equipment is not an easy task.
Many Forging Masters look very aged because they expend too much energy in forging.
And Lis, being so young now, could achieve much greater feats in the future if he pays some attention.
Therefore, Tomun specifically instructed Lis and let Nidir keep an eye on him.
Of course, there might be an intention to secretly match Lis and Nidir.
Unlike human women, dwarves do not hide their emotions.
Like is like, dislike is just dislike.
They express their feelings sincerely.
Like Nidir, after Lis awoke, she quickly confessed her feelings to Lis.
Lis felt touched but ultimately rejected Nidir’s affection.
He stated that all his current focus was on forging, and he wasn’t considering other matters.
Although Nidir felt a bit dejected, she quickly regained her spirits.
Having worked at the Iron Hammer Workshop for such a long time, and with her family’s unique situation, Nidir very well understood what a young forging prodigy like Lis represented.
So she did not give up; instead, she became even more enthusiastic.
Faced with Nidir’s kindness, Lis had no other thoughts.
After successfully forging that Legendary Equipment, his status at the Iron Hammer Workshop completely changed.
Those with strength and ability are respected there.
Especially when Lis was almost reaching the pinnacle in the domain of forging.
The Dwarf Kingdom places great importance on this aspect, and Lis received utmost attention from the Iron Hammer Workshop.
On the day Lis just "woke up," he already "bumped into" most of the forging masters at the Iron Hammer Workshop.
These dwarf masters were very enthusiastic and praised Lis, noting how extraordinary it was for someone so young to achieve such a high level in forging.
Afterwards, the masters gently pointed out to Lis what areas were lacking when he was forging the Legendary Long Sword Red Flame Dragon Spine.
If he became an apprentice, they would impart all their lifetime forging insights to Lis and so forth.
And each time this happened, Old Tomun would suddenly appear and furiously shout at those forging masters.
Then the two old dwarves would get into a bickering match.
Just one day, Tomun displayed great vigor, fighting countless battles.
Lis didn’t concern himself too much; each time he quietly slipped away.
In fact, the master’s suggestions on the Legendary Long Sword’s forging were highly useful, giving Lis a sense of enlightenment.
Without witnessing the entire process of Lis forging that Legendary Long Sword and only through the finished product, being able to point out so many details, it was evident that those masters at the Iron Hammer Workshop indeed had real talent.
Lis also noticed the reaction of the Dwarf Royal Court.
