Talista is a very mature forward, knowing when to get up and keep charging, and when to lie on the ground and roll endlessly.
After a whistle blew, the main referee pointed to the penalty spot.
This penalty didn’t actually have much controversy.
Talista fell backwards, and the opponent indeed had a pulling action, with some force.
Although there was an element of exaggeration in Talista’s performance, it’s not wrong to call a foul this time.
Another central defender of Sevilla also received a yellow card.
On the San Remo side, Lu Yang walked towards the penalty spot holding the ball.
He’s taking the penalty.
This is the penalty that decides whether San Remo takes three points or one point from this Champions League match.
The pressure is immense.
If they score, San Remo is likely to top Group D.
If they miss, they might end up at the bottom of the group.
It’s a matter of life and death in one shot.
Bam!
Lu Yang takes the penalty.
The Sevilla goalkeeper flew to the right, only to watch a rainbow arc through the sky.
A Panenka penalty!
Lu Yang’s big heart is difficult to comprehend.
The Panenka penalty stunned everyone, putting San Remo in a three-to-two lead.
Sevilla consequently made two substitutions.
They swapped a forward for a full-back.
Then they substituted one of the central defenders who had received a yellow card.
Three at the back, strengthening the attack.
This is not the formation with two wing-backs that equates to five defenders when defending.
It literally means, there are truly only three defenders.
They’re going all out!
They need to at least take away a point.
First minute of extra time.
Lu Yang and Delarre coordinated with substitute Fernandez to go down the wing, then passed back in a triangle.
Unfortunately, the ball was slightly deflected by the opponent’s defender, slowing it down considerably.
As a result, Lu Yang at the edge of the penalty box had to engage in fierce physical contest with the opponent before winning the ball.
Lu Yang pushed the opponent away, executed a Cruyff Turn, forcibly adjusting the angle to face the goal, and used his body to create some space.
The Sevilla central defender marking him stepped back a pace or two but quickly regained his footing.
However, to quickly stabilize his stance, the opponent spread his arms to help his body swiftly regain balance.
Bam!
Lu Yang takes a long shot.
The opponent didn’t have time to react.
The football struck the opponent’s outstretched arm.
Elbow area, very clear.
The main referee blew his whistle again, then pointed to the penalty spot.
Another penalty!
The Sevilla team completely collapsed.
All the players rushed towards the main referee, firmly believing the decision was unjust.
The handball was undisputed, but the position was controversial.
The confrontation between Lu Yang and them clearly occurred outside the penalty area.
Lu Yang’s shot was also from outside the box, so how could it be a penalty?
Wasn’t it supposed to be a free kick?
But the main referee pointed to the ground, and everyone then noticed that the Sevilla central defender was indeed firmly planted inside the penalty area.
"He’s in the penalty area now, but he wasn’t just now when he got hit by the ball," Sevilla players defended their teammate.
However, the main referee stood by his decision, affirming it was indeed a penalty.
Soon, applause erupted in Miracle Stadium.
Because the stadium’s big screen replayed the footage just now, and the opponent was indeed standing inside the penalty area.
This is indeed a penalty.
Although this wouldn’t influence the main referee’s decision in any way, it undoubtedly informed the fans of the correctness of the main referee’s ruling.
The Sevilla fans who traveled with the team were momentarily at a loss for words.
Lu Yang stood at the penalty spot for the second time.
The Sevilla goalkeeper and Lu Yang exchanged glances.
After a few seconds, Lu Yang began his run-up.
Bam!
This time, the Sevilla goalkeeper was confident in his choice.
He knew Lu Yang preferred aiming for the corners, and he had specifically trained for saving balls aimed at the corners.
As long as the direction was right, he could save this penalty.
A second later.
Boom!
The whole stadium erupted.
"Oh my God, how does he dare!"
"Another Panenka penalty! Lu Yang is so brave!"
"Scoring two Panenka penalties, is Lu Yang really playing in the Champions League? Isn’t he nervous?"
"Four to two, the game is entirely put to bed, and Sevilla cowers away from Miracle Stadium. In San Remo, this Sunshine City, they feel nothing but endless coldness!"
"In the first eighty minutes of this match, Lu Yang was somewhat quiet. But a true hero often only needs one or two chances to save the whole world!"
"Two wins and one loss, accumulating six points from three games. San Remo and Sporting Lisbon have the same points, but San Remo tops the Champions League Group D standings because of their head-to-head advantage!"
"From the bottom of the group to the top, San Remo has shown their tenacity."
"Can they create their own miracle in the Champions League? Statistics show that no debuting team in the Champions League has ever made it out of the group stage directly!"
"San Remo, charge forward!"
