And an ordinary Serie A team without Champions League qualification and not a powerhouse cannot attract quality players.
Even the Europa League is of no use.
This is the only way San Remo can cope with the departure of core players next year.
Lu Yang, Morici, and these players have already stayed another year for San Remo.
No matter how the team performs next year, they have no reason to stay further.
After a long silence, Sotu finally made the decision.
"Alright! Then let’s set our goal." Sotu said, "The Champions League zone!"
"Considering the strength of Juventus, Rome, and Florence, we can only realistically compete for the fourth place in the league. And our competitors include Milan, Inter Milan, Naples, Atlanta, Lazio, and even Udinese!"
Upon hearing these team names, everyone frowned.
This schedule is too brutal.
Not every team is Arsenal, always able to find fourth place.
"Additionally, regarding the Champions League, the bonuses after advancing from the group stage are very generous." Sotu said, "With reasonable grouping, we can take a shot."
Everyone nodded.
This does have potential.
The Champions League group stage schedule is in the first half of the season and will not affect the team’s push for the top four in the second half of the season.
Don’t ask if the team will face time pressure if they really advance.
The odds of that happening are very small.
Serie A is already a realm San Remo has never reached before.
But the Champions League is a realm even more esteemed and powerful than the Five Major Leagues.
How many championships has Bayern won in a row?
Paris is a treble winner!
Juventus are quadruple winners!
Real Madrid, during the mid-to-late Galaxy Battleship era, spent two hundred million more!
But in the last three years, their Champions League titles are zero!
If these teams are like this, what about San Remo?
What?
Europa League?
Truth be told, the teams that win the Europa League are indeed impressive.
The Europa League is indeed the second most impressive cup competition in the whole of Europe.
But actually, there’s another saying about the Europa League.
That is... the League of Failures!
The Europa League is a self-consolation for a bunch of losers.
The strongest teams in the Europa League can’t even get out of the group stage in the Champions League.
Would true champions even care for such a title?
If it weren’t for the Europa League, Sotu wouldn’t have dared to mention advancing from the Champions League group stage.
It actually sounds even more excessive than aiming for the top four in the league!
"Ding! Congratulations on leading the team to the European Super Cup championship, you have received Reverse Moment Card x3!"
At this time, Lu Yang’s system issued a reward.
Reverse Moment Card?
After checking its effects, Lu Yang smiled.
This thing, like the Moment Card, allows a player to possess a star’s ability during a certain period and can likely replicate the star’s iconic moments.
But these three cards are for the opponents to use.
This... is too underhanded!
Lu Yang happily collected the cards.
Whether it’s Moment Cards, Reverse Moment Cards, or Peak Cards, he needs to hold them tightly now.
Because he has clearly sensed that the difficulty of obtaining cards is increasing.
Usually, you get cards only after winning major titles.
If you use the cards in regular matches, then the cards will be used up faster than they can be acquired.
San Remo and Lu Yang may miss out on trophies because they lack card enhancements during critical events.
Therefore, in today’s discussion, Lu Yang was very satisfied with the team lowering its goal from league champion to competing for fourth place.
In thirty-eight matches, his Moment Cards, Reverse Moment Cards, and any cards he might gain in the future wouldn’t exceed five or six.
But matches between San Remo and strong Serie A teams account for about twelve or thirteen games.
In more than half of the matches, Lu Yang needs to lead San Remo with genuine strength against opponents.
Ensuring victory rates will be really hard.
And what if some weak Serie A team explodes and beats San Remo?
Practically uncontrolled matches reach over twenty games.
In these matches, San Remo at least needs to win half of them.
The difficulty is really very high.
Overall, this year’s challenges for San Remo in the league are almost at a hellish level.
They are even less likely to split their focus on the Champions League and the Italian Cup.
Champions League group stage.
Italian Cup will be directly abandoned, allowing the substitutes to play.
San Remo will focus on the league, fighting for fourth place!
...
With the goals set, San Remo’s team training saw new elements.
Alme’s integration issues.
Moriba’s discipline issues.
The deep cooperation between Talista and the team, among other things.
And the Champions League draw entered the public eye as time progressed.
But before that, San Remo will first welcome their Serie A debut!
