The AC Milan players looked over, as if they were seeing a madman.
But Lu Yang and Alme looked back at them, their eyes full of determination.
Several AC Milan players furrowed their brows, dismissing the idea of breaking through Alme again.
This kid isn’t a complete pushover.
If someone fouls him again, this hotheaded fellow could do anything.
Soon, Andrés stood at the penalty spot.
Fifteen seconds later, AC Milan fans started to celebrate.
B Fee took the penalty, ah spit... Andrés shot and scored!
He completed a personal double, putting in a stellar performance this match!
Three to five!
AC Milan made their loss look less harsh.
In fact, from their spirit, you might even feel they still have a chance to equalize.
Including injury time, there are still about twenty minutes left in the match.
In World Football, many teams are good at creating miracles.
Like last year’s Liverpool.
Like the past two years’ San Remo.
And like AC Milan this year.
"Moriba!" As AC Milan briefly celebrated, Lu Yang called out to Moriba.
"Huh?" Moriba turned his head.
"Don’t dribble like that anymore," Lu Yang said.
"Okay." Moriba didn’t give a clear reply and prepared to leave.
"Do you understand what I mean?" Lu Yang quickly walked in front of him, blocking his path.
"I understand." Moriba was a bit impatient.
Don’t forget, he is nearly a year older than Lu Yang!
"If you understand, repeat what I mean," Lu Yang said. "I need to make sure you really understood my message. I don’t want to see such basic mistakes again!"
Moriba looked at Lu Yang and unconsciously clenched his fist.
In Le Havre, no one ever talked to him like this.
In Le Havre, Moriba and Lu Yang played the same role; they were both beloved stars of their teams.
He was a player capable of deciding the outcome of a match.
Under Lu Yang’s gaze, although Moriba was extremely unwilling, he still said, "Quick ball circulation, reduce dribbling, defend actively, and while doing these, participate in the team’s offense."
Lu Yang’s lips curled slightly upward, "No, not the last part. For this match, you don’t need to get involved in the team’s attacking!"
Moriba’s eyes widened.
Has anyone ever asked a midfielder such a thing?
This...
Don’t treat a defensive midfielder as less of a midfielder!
"Coach Sotu didn’t arrange for something like this," Moriba protested.
"Well, now he does!" Lu Yang said. "I know you’re talented in attack, but when the team needs your defense more, you must deliver what the team requires."
"If you can’t do that, then in the next game and the game after that, you won’t get any playing time."
"Conversely, if you meet the team’s requirements, then at the appropriate time, I’ll tell Coach Sotu to give you more playing time and even let you play in positions other than defensive midfielder!"
When Lu Yang spoke, he was very confident.
This feeling was very familiar to Moriba.
Before he transferred, he had the privilege of exchanging a few words with the chairman of Paris Saint-Germain at an event. The chairman’s calm demeanor was exactly like Lu Yang’s at this moment.
Moriba had no doubt that if Coach Sotu still had a substitution left at his disposal, Lu Yang could have persuaded Sotu to substitute Moriba right after his recent entry.
"I understand now, I’ll focus on defense." This time, Moriba truly understood.
This is San Remo.
This is Lu Yang’s territory, not Moriba’s.
At Le Havre, he could do as he pleased, ignore the rules.
But not in San Remo.
This right was reserved for Lu Yang alone.
Before he had strengthened his own abilities, he didn’t have the power to challenge Lu Yang.
Moriba came to San Remo because it offered more playing opportunities.
He wouldn’t stay long in San Remo; there was no need to conflict with Lu Yang. He was just a passerby.
But if Lu Yang didn’t give him game time, he could end up stuck in this Sunshine City, never catching the eye of a top club again.
Midfielders who play well are almost always smart.
Moriba quickly realized the posture he should adopt in San Remo’s team.
In the next five minutes, Moriba worked tirelessly on defense.
And he also noticed that Lu Yang, the right winger, was also participating in defense.
Only then could they barely withstand AC Milan’s repeated attacks.
In the eighty-eighth minute, Moriba successfully intercepted a direct pass to Sogel from AC Milan’s side.
Seeing an opportunity upfront, Moriba instinctively wanted to send a risky through ball.
If he got it through, Talista could immediately create a threat.
Of course, if the through ball failed, it would allow AC Milan to launch a counter-counterattack.
Moriba was just about to pass when Lu Yang’s words echoed in his mind.
He hesitated, refraining from the through pass, and instead stopped the ball underfoot.
From afar, Andrés suddenly broke back, appearing in the path Moriba was about to pass to!
What a close call!
Moriba’s forehead was covered with cold sweat.
Andrés had read his passing intentions; had the ball gone through, it would have likely led to trouble.
Then...
Moriba swallowed hard, quickly passing the ball to Delarre beside him, before taking a few steps back to get into a defensive position.
Delarre was surprised.
Moriba suddenly stopped hogging the ball?
Strange!
Delarre moved the ball forward.
