Chapter 1054 - 990: Arrival at the Lighthouse Islands
Midnight strikes, and a new day begins. The Da Fei Fleet sails through the azure archipelago waters, where unknown birds of prey soar in circles. Around the islands, Fishman villages are bustling and emitting strange cries, and the Lighthouse Islands are right ahead. At this moment, Da Fei’s heart is filled with mixed emotions as he holds the Magic Ball, "incubating eggs".
He remembers thinking about how to get by when he first left. Back then, he assumed that he would have to fight his way into the heart of the Naga Sea Domain, a place where ordinary players could hardly set foot, known as the Shura Sea Prison.
But now, it seems that this place is picturesque, and the locals are friendly and sincere, not as terrifying as he thought. This is actually a paradise for the strong. At this moment, Da Fei suddenly misses Vice President Coltner’s piano. How perfect it would be if he could play a piece right now.
While lost in thought, the friend message on junxiang’s alt’s side rang.
Da Fei switched over, and it was from the department leader, Bloodrose Holy Spear: "Is Brother Junxiang there?"
Da Fei quickly replied, "Yes, yes, I’m always here!"
Bloodrose Holy Spear laughed, "You’ve worked hard today, Brother Junxiang. It’s 12 o’clock now; you can log off and rest."
Da Fei quickly replied, "It’s not hard, not hard at all; didn’t do anything much."
Bloodrose Holy Spear laughed, "Doing nothing and waiting while AFK is the hardest and most exhausting of all. Besides, Brother Junxiang did more than nothing; you discovering the mine site with just one word is a big discovery!"
Da Fei quickly laughed, "Nowhere, nowhere, just nonsense. With so many experts in the large guilds, discovery was only a matter of time."
Bloodrose Holy Spear laughed, "That may be so, but the significance of being the first to discover is definitely different. Just now, after discussions among the guilds, it’s estimated that without two to three days of fierce battle in reality, we can’t settle this Birdman mountain range, and we might even have to wait for the Dragon Slayer Guild’s troops to coordinate from within. Anyway, Brother Junxiang won’t have any major tasks in the next two days, so have a good rest."
Da Fei said, "Understood, Sister Ann, you should also take care and rest."
"Got it."
Just then, Little Li’s message arrived: "Big Brother, you’ve worked hard today. I’ll take over the account for you to AFK."
Da Fei sighed with a laugh, "You and Little Fang are taking turns on the night shift again, huh?"
Little Li nodded, "Yes, so we have no problem at all. Big Brother, don’t try to keep up with us youngsters. Make sure to rest at any time and maintain your condition."
Trying to keep up with youngsters? Maintaining condition? Da Fei found the words a bit odd! In Little Li’s impression, wasn’t he just an errand boy delivering water, and hadn’t played the game for long - no need to maintain "condition" to that degree, right? But she was right; he didn’t have anyone to take shifts with him, so he shouldn’t try to keep up with youngsters.
Da Fei laughed, "Alright, I’ll log off. Call if anything comes up."
"Got it."
Just before logging off, Da Fei took one last look at the Electric Demon God Rune Tower, and his heart thumped. Could this scene be as straightforward as the professional experts estimated, resolved in just two or three days? Probably not.
In general, if the system sends a God to assist players, the monsters in this scene are likely God-level as well. Or maybe originally, they weren’t God-level, but due to the Demon God’s intervention, the Birdmen might also call in their own God-level expert, eventually leading to God-level combat!
If that’s the case, could the longer the Demon God spends here play into his hands?
This thought lingered only a moment in Da Fei’s mind and was quickly dismissed with a shake of his head. Now is not the time to think about slaying gods; it’s time to continue AFKing and sleeping. Little Li is right; he must seize every moment and opportunity to rest and maintain his condition.
At 1 AM Beijing Time, Da Fei was awakened by the sound of his fleet’s horn, along with friend message alerts.
Da Fei looked up to see several lighthouses illuminated on the distant horizon; the Lighthouse Islands had finally arrived. And naturally, the friend message was from Bu Feiyan, Bloodrose Leader, Shenlan, and their congratulations: "Brother Fei, our members see your fleet!"
Da Fei hurriedly picked up his telescope, and sure enough, the island was bustling with people, materials piled high, and NPC workers busy all over. People really are a great force! If it were just him, no matter how formidable, he wouldn’t be able to handle this situation alone.
Da Fei smiled with satisfaction, "It’s not easy. I didn’t expect us to rendezvous in such a situation. Get ready to receive the goods."
The goods, of course, were the Ancient Warrior troop set from the Dragon Tomb. A guild gets three sets, 300,000 per set, 1.2 million in hand! Though just a small deal, it would be embarrassing to call oneself a professional player without doing some business, wahahaha!
Shenlan rejoiced, "It’s truly hard to see Brother Fei in the wild! To welcome Brother Fei, our members immediately repaired a dock capable of berthing Brother Fei’s ship!"
Bu Feiyan laughed, "Just waiting for Brother Fei. I won’t sleep until I see him!"
Bloodrose Rosa laughed, "Brother Fei, I’ll take Boss Ma’s goods."
Ma Yinglong: "Brother Fei, I’ll have Miss Zhou send someone to receive the goods!"
Amid everyone’s chatter, Da Fei felt spirited and enthusiastic: "No need for formalities! Haha, beautiful women are joking! No problem at all! Wahahaha!"
During light chatting, the fleet entered the Lighthouse Islands waters. Upon closer look, each small island had become a construction site — digging, paving, building squares, constructing houses, land-filling to build docks, a scene of busy activity. The regional channel was also bustling: "Brother Fei’s fleet is awesome!" "This is so ahead of its time, unimaginable!"
Da Fei waved greetings to the team members on the island shore while chatting in the regional channel, "Brothers, you’ve worked hard!"
"Brother Fei, you’ve worked hard!"
Wahahaha, how delightful! Since the guild’s sycophants went to the Red Name Village, isolated from the world, Da Fei hadn’t heard such lively cheers for a long time. Just then, Da Fei noticed a large troop of fully armed Dwarf Warriors on the dock island shore, and the long-missed Hangeval was there, supported by two dwarfs, waiting on the dock.
Da Fei’s heart skipped a beat. Was Hangeval this weak? He hadn’t recovered all this time? Da Fei quickly apologized to all the big shots in his messages: "Sorry everyone, there’s an NPC waiting for me on the dock. I have some tasks to hand over."
Everyone laughed, "We see, take your time, Brother Fei."
The island had only a simple dock, enough only for the Flying, while other fleets remained anchored offshore.
As the Flying docked, the dwarfs on the shore cheered! Hangeval excitedly opened his mouth to Da Fei on the deck! Da Fei then noticed he had few teeth left, and once greying hair was now completely bald! He had aged so quickly!
Da Fei suddenly had a foreboding feeling! (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, you are welcome to recommend this at Qidian (qidian.com) or cast a monthly vote. Your support is my biggest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
