Chapter 1020 - 959: The Demon God Takes Action
(Thanks to the Mortal Mi classmate for providing the latest data on Da Fei’s attributes again!)
The time for Da Fei to happily hang up and eat and rest is now. But for Skyshattering Thunder, his arduous task has just begun. However, it’s not a problem; he’s not fighting alone. Behind him is the mission strategy think tank of the large guild.
First, he must report the findings to the Prince. Even Da Fei knows that the Prince is greedy and self-serving, so to persuade the Prince, you must have solid evidence.
Thus, Skyshattering Thunder personally took the master-level prospecting team he introduced to the Great Wilderness, braved the bird droppings to search for minerals and obtain ore samples, then received maps from reconnaissance team members, and finally died by swallowing feces to return to the city to meet the Prince.
At this moment, the big screens of Star, Ninth Heaven, Bloodrose, and the Royal Family were broadcasting the critical scene of Skyshattering Thunder meeting the Prince live.
Covered in a fiery blazing armor cloak, standing on a flame hero aura, the tall and sturdy Prince, Talberon the Flame Fist, appeared, standing half a body taller than ordinary humans. His eyes, as they swept around, seemed like two moving flames leaving trails of fire in the air.
The first-time seeing the Prince, everyone in the Bloodrose Royal Family could not help but exclaim, "That’s not a dwarf at all—it’s clearly a Flame Demon Giant!"
Eternal Star chuckled, "Actually, dwarves were earlier commonly translated as such in Chinese. Normal dwarves are a head or two shorter than adult humans, but their weight and strength completely overpower humans—fighting two or three humans is no problem. Just that, for balancing game units, the difference in regular units isn’t made so large."
Bloodrose Rosa laughed, "I think this Prince is truly mighty and domineering; there might not be a hero in the alliance who could defeat him, right?"
Eternal Star chuckled, "You’re right. In terms of brute strength, neither the alliance nor the Beastmen has anyone who can match him. And the other one competing with him for position, the Second Prince, is far inferior to him—not even a hero. This is likely why Da Fei isn’t willing to step into this mess."
Royal Dominator laughed, "Such a powerful hero with even a Demon God to assist—heavens know how mighty this combo is. We’ve definitely backed the right horse."
Eternal Star sighed, "Exactly because he’s too powerful, his forces are severely restrained by his father, so we’re really not sure if this will succeed."
Bloodrose Rosa laughed, "I see, if his forces are indeed fully restrained, then he can only rely on the Demon God, and this might actually work out."
Everyone laughed, "Let’s hope so."
At this moment, the Prince on the big screen said calmly, "You have five minutes. Speak quickly!"
Skyshattering Thunder immediately presented the obtained diamond samples and the map: "Your Highness, I discovered a diamond mine surrounded by mountains at one of the exits of the World Window. This is a poor-quality surface mine; we believe there are more and better mines in the mountainous or underground areas. Therefore, I request your permission to mine it."
"Diamond?!" The Prince’s entire body of flames suddenly quivered; he hastily grabbed the sample for a detailed inspection—as he tightly clenched it in his flaming fist, the ore began to crumble, emitting smoke, and melted into lava, dripping from the gaps between his fingers!
This astonishing display of strength completely redefined the understanding of Skyshattering Thunder and the big shots behind the scenes: "Is this godly or what?"
At the same time, the strategy think tank keenly captured the Prince’s personality traits from the vibration of the flames: his emotions were indeed easily swayed by external factors.
In Skyshattering Thunder’s stunned stupor, the Prince clapped his hands, and shining multicolored powder danced around his palms—Diamond Stars!
At this moment, all the big shots behind the scenes were once again stunned; this was refining the ore into diamonds on the spot! What an astonishing show of power!
"Excellent ore!" The Prince said in a deep voice, "But such fine ore must have monsters guarding it, right?"
Skyshattering Thunder hurriedly responded, "Your Highness is wise. We encountered mythical creatures, the Birdmen. We couldn’t manage even common Birdmen, completely powerless against them. And there must be stronger and more cunning Birdmen in the mountains. I believe our enemy is beyond what mortals can handle, so I boldly request your assistance!"
The Prince retorted with displeasure, "Since you already believe mortals can’t handle it, what use is calling on me? Go check other exits to see if there are better opportunities."
The Prince didn’t take the bait!? At this moment, all the think tanks of the large guilds immediately became elated. Exactly, taking the bait so easily would be unusual! Fortunately, the professional strategists were long prepared with a countermeasure.
So Eternal Star immediately said, "Response Plan Number Two! Stimulate him a bit."
Skyshattering Thunder understood and quickly said, "Your Highness, I heard the Second Prince has the assistance of a Demon God, which poses a significant threat to you!"
At this moment, all the behind-the-scenes strategists observed quietly. Since Skyshattering Thunder personally hadn’t triggered the plot revealing the Second Prince having a Demon God, this hearsay plot would either have no effect on the Prince or unexpectedly yield a miraculous result.
Upon hearing this, the Prince’s flames ceased to flicker and only said calmly, "Do you have evidence?"
Skyshattering Thunder dared not answer, waiting quietly for the strategy think tank’s analysis plan. The think tank immediately commenced a rapid discussion.
Judging from the Prince’s unfazed flames, it was clear that the Prince wasn’t stimulated. Either this plot had no effect on the Prince, or the Prince already knew the Second Prince also had a Demon God. If it’s the first situation, then this conversation is a complete failure; if it’s the second situation, then there’s still a chance.
The strategy think tank quickly deduced: "Be honest, retreat to advance."
After a moment of silence, Skyshattering Thunder replied: "The Second Prince keeps his secrets well, I have no evidence. As time is short for Your Highness, I shall not disturb you further. Let’s cancel the plan to occupy the Diamond Mine this time."
Just then, the flames on the Prince reignited, and he suddenly waved his hand: "No! Continue with the plan. I’ll send someone with you, and I’ll also provide the mining equipment."
As he spoke, a dwarf, fully clad in armor and whose face was unseen, suddenly appeared silently beside the Prince.
"Success!" The Alliance chat room erupted in cheers!
And as for this mysterious dwarf who suddenly appeared, everyone knew that this was the legendary Demon God!
Eternal Star excitedly said: "Keep asking, ask him what methods he has for coping!"
Skyshattering Thunder hurriedly asked: "Your Highness, these bird creatures hover high up, beyond the range of arrows and magic; how do you propose to deal with them?"
The armored dwarf gave a muffle laugh: "You’ll need to construct a Rune Tower, and I will personally capture these birdmen and brainwash them, making them part of our army. Warrior, is this method feasible?"
"Brainwashing! He truly is the Demon God!" At this moment, the bigwigs in the chat room excitedly stood up and began to applaud involuntarily!
Skyshattering Thunder was moved to tears on the spot: "Thank you, Your Highness, I will go all out!"
The Prince nodded: "Very well, it is time for me to receive guests. I hold 50% of the shares in this mine, so consider the rest for transport and mining up to you. I await your good news." After saying so, he disappeared in a blaze of fire.
50% of the shares!? The bigwigs, who were just cheering a moment ago, were dumbfounded and speechless!
Bloodrose Rosa laughed with tears in her eyes: "This Prince really does split half as soon as we meet; he’s surely both greedy and dark-hearted, right?"
Eternal Star shook his head and smiled: "After all, we can’t do without his help."
Divine Emperor laughed: "Indeed, if he weren’t greedy, we wouldn’t even have this opportunity."
Royal Dominator was puzzled: "By the way, I’d like to know why at first the Prince disagreed, but when we mentioned the Second Prince had a Demon God, the Prince agreed?"
Eternal Star laughed heartily: "The reason is quite simple: if the second-born already has a Demon God and the firstborn doesn’t, what would his subordinates think? If the firstborn didn’t make a statement, his subordinates might just go and follow the second-born."
Royal Dominator finally understood, slapped his forehead, and laughed: "Exactly, if I were the firstborn, I certainly wouldn’t sit idly by; I’d have to make a statement too."
Divine Emperor laughed: "NPC intelligence at this prince’s level is really no different from a real person, so only by dealing with him as if he were a real person can we achieve results."
Royal Dominator nodded: "I see, I see!"
Divine Emperor sighed with a smile: "It’s a pity that the 50% share allocation truly pains us; he took 50% alone, while the remaining 50% is shared among so many of us, which is a bit... you know."
Eternal Star smirked coldly: "That’s easy to handle. Once we stabilize the situation here, we can get in touch with Dragon Slayer and find an appropriate time for them to take over the mine. Then we’ll settle the accounts offline, or we can let a random alt unassociated with the Prince retake the mine and redistribute the shares."
Everyone laughed heartily: "Damn, so shameless!"
With the Prince’s intervention, another convoy carrying mysterious materials began heading towards the Divine Domain Space, making the diamond mining in the Great Wilderness inevitable.
Meanwhile, under the instructions of Bloodrose Leader Zhou Qing, Little Fang and Little Li also returned to the Monastery outside Saint Paul City to report the progress of the cleansing work to the gatekeeping old nun. Compared to the strategy think tank behind Skyshattering Thunder, Little Fang and Little Li were purely relying on luck.
At this moment, the old nun’s expressionless wrinkled face showed no change: "Your guild’s cleansing work is excellent. I will report your achievements to the church."
——System Prompt: Bloodrose Guild has completed the phased shared mission "Ways to Earn the Old Nun’s Appreciation," Guild Reputation +3631, Church Reputation +1463, and participating members gained reputation experience. (See Chapter 775 ’Ways to Earn the Nun’s Appreciation’)
This experience and reputation reward is completely the same as an ordinary errand task. So Little Fang promptly said: "Please give us a higher challenge, Old Nun."
The old nun’s expressionless face finally lit up: "You’re tired of manure and ready to challenge cleaning corpses, aren’t you?"
Although Little Fang wanted to say yes, as it doesn’t really concern her, for the sake of the mission she bluntly refused: "No, we’ve linked feces to the King of Feces Mound, Beelzebub. We wish to challenge conquering such a Demon King. Please guide us, Old Nun." (To be continued.
