Chapter 1113: Chapter 719, Deep Reef Outpost
Below.
The patrolling fleet also noticed the aerial ship that suddenly appeared above.
Transmigrators had a convenient way of passing messages.
They had received the message very early.
The Federation’s army had launched an attack on Giant Claw Island with aerial ships.
At this moment, seeing the huge ship above, they immediately thought of the Federation’s army.
Everyone on the sea ships was in a frenzy, loudly issuing orders.
The ships began to turn around to avoid the range of the enemy’s cannons.
However, the roaring sound in the sky had already begun.
Whoosh whoosh whoosh!
Boom boom boom!!
A barrage of shells fell directly into the sea near the fleet and on the deck.
Waves rose and wood splinters flew.
Explosions and cries filled the entire area.
Under the intense bombardment, the sea ships disintegrated, with fragments of the ships and crew members floating all over the sea.
It wasn’t just the patrolling ships.
Behind them, the ‘Deep Reef Station,’ which the Sea Tribe prided itself on being able to hinder any ship’s passage, also suffered intense bombardment.
The watchtower built of reefs was directly turned into ruins under the shelling.
Even the parts buried in the sea were penetrated by shells that smashed onto the semi-covered outpost.
Shells fell relentlessly, as if releasing the Federation’s pent-up rage.
The cannon fire continued incessantly, turning all visible and invisible into debris.
The Sea Tribe’s Jiaowei could do nothing in face of this attack.
They could only dive deep into the sea to dodge the shells, helplessly watching the station turn into a pile of ruins.
…
The bombardment lasted for half an hour.
The sky filled with gunsmoke enveloped the hot air balloons overhead, covering the sky like dark clouds.
Xu Yuanhang glanced below at the sea surface covered in debris.
He issued the order to cease fire.
He had the accompanying transmigrators take a few photos of the scene below and send them to the Alliance channel.
Soon, he received Bai Xuan’s reply, “Good, quickly regroup.”
“Received!”
The others, upon seeing the photos, also became energized.
“Holy cow! I want to fire the cannons too; this trek has numbed me.”
“We’ve reached the outpost, I guess it’ll be another day or two till we reach Giant Claw Island.”
“Let those little bastards rage, kill them outright.”
“With our current strength, beating them is like crushing ants.”
Channel members, upon seeing the content of the photos.
Got fired up.
Looking forward to the upcoming ‘Giant Claw Island’ battle.
…
Silver Wing City, council hall.
“The southern coastal area, fishermen dare not go out to sea, and we face significant issues with the economy and food.”
“Trading groups also cannot use the sea routes, many goods spoil on the detours, becoming unsellable.”
“Lyss City, when can you resolve this issue?”
“The sea is a weak point for the Federation, and our poor relation with the Sea Tribe brings no benefits.”
“Member Palmer, I want to ask if the two powers go to war, can Lyss City bear this responsibility?”
“What will you use, Lyss City, to recover the losses this time?”
Ever since Lyss City began attacking the Sea Tribe, similar situations would always arise in the routine meetings of the Federation.
Report the losses of the coastal areas and then follow it with a reprimand to Lyss City.
As if, it wasn’t the Sea Tribe causing all this but the resistant Lyss City.
With the tacit approval of the upper house, this situation had become the norm.
And the representative of Lyss City, ‘Palmer,’ remained indifferent.
Rarely speaking out to refute these issues.
“I propose, to remove Lyss City’s position in the upper house, and re-elect the sixth member of the upper house.” Suddenly, someone stood up and declared loudly.
Upon this statement, a brief silence ensued.
“I second that, since Lyss City entered the upper house, it hasn’t brought any significant help to the council; instead, it acts unilaterally, I suggest re-voting on the position of Lyss City in the upper house.” Another member stood up in agreement.
“I second that, please, Chief Dordy, elect new members for the upper house.”
“I second that, if Lyss City lacks the ability, then someone else should replace them.”
“I also second…”
One member after another stood up, expressing their support for removing Lyss City’s position.
Calm and indifferent ‘Palmer’ frowned at this moment.
Removing a member from the upper house at the lower house was unprecedented.
Position in the upper house.
The Archbishop still had a gentle smile, waiting for the scene to quiet down a bit.
Then he spoke, “Chief Dordy, since we still have some time, why not hold a vote to determine if Lyss City still qualifies for a position in the upper house.”
Wow!
Upon his statement, the scene instantly became noisy again.
The Archbishop speaking was a signal.
The upper house also wanted to bring down Lyss City; of course, this wasn’t the first time.
“The Archbishop makes sense; let’s have a vote today.”
“Chief Dordy, Lyss City decided to go to war on its own, threatening the security of the entire Federation; we should re-decide whether they should retain their position in the upper house.”
With the Archbishop coming forward, more and more voices criticized.
Some even stood up, pointing at ‘Palmer,’ cursing them as the sinners of the Federation.
They should be directly locked up in the prison of Silver Wing City.
Dordy’s brows also furrowed slightly.
These days, in the meetings of the upper house, there had been multiple mentions of holding Lyss City responsible.
However, he had listened to Rebecca’s plan and felt it was still worth a trial.
At least, if successful, it would benefit the Federation; if failed, the blame would fall on Lyss City.
But he did not expect this to end up being discussed in the council.
The upper and lower houses acted simultaneously, seizing the opportunity to bring down Lyss City.
Bang Bang!!
Dordy slapped the table, and the whole room fell silent.
Just as he was about to speak.
From a corridor on the side, attendants from the Hall of Justice, the Church, and other city lords continuously walked out.
The whole room instantly fell silent.
What’s going on, had something important happened?
On the stage.
Dordy and Milton, among others, listened to the attendants’ words, their eyes shifting from confusion to surprise.
After confirming the source of the news several times.
They finally nodded slightly.
The messengers who brought the message all walked down.
Lyss City’s representative, Palmer, puffed out his chest a bit more, looking down with a disdainful expression.
Not waiting for the representative from the lower house to speak again.
Dordy directly said, “Lyss City has sent back word, Haber’s team has already destroyed the ‘Deep Reef Outpost’ on Giant Claw Island.”
Wow!
As soon as the words were out, the whole room erupted into a buzz.
The Federation had not reached ‘Deep Reef Outpost’ for many years.
And the past few times, it was attacks made in conjunction with the strength of the entire Federation against the Sea Tribe, so how had Lyss City managed it themselves?
Was this still the same unremarkable border town?
All the council members’ expressions turned extremely grave.
Even the Archbishop felt as if he had been slapped in the face.
The very targets he had just rebuked had suddenly become heroes.
They had accomplished what the Federation hadn’t achieved in years.
And they were still being called delusional and criminal?
The hall fell silent; no further words were spoken.
At this moment, Dordy spoke.
“Put the coastal defense lines on pre-war alert, be wary of the Sea Tribe’s retaliation. All military requests from Lyss City are to be complied with promptly, without any excuses for delay.”
After speaking, he didn’t wait for others to respond, and declared the council meeting over.
He hurried back to discuss the next steps in detail with Rebecca.
Whether the Federation could change the current circumstances,
actually depended on this battle by Lyss City.
…
On the sea.
Having just seen off the merfolk lord, he took out the Sound-transmitting Shell and contacted Eira in the main city.
He asked her to bring the maids and cleaning supplies to gather at Troop Hiding Cave.
Even though the Undead had already cleaned up here,
it still required a thorough cleaning by the maids to meet living standards.
After all, people would need to live here in the future.
About half an hour later.
Eira sent a message that preparations were complete.
Fang Hao immediately opened the Gate of the Worlds.
The ancient stone gate opened to reveal the expectant faces of bunny and fox girls.
Not waiting for Fang Hao to speak, a daring few immediately rushed out.
Behind the maids followed a large group of Skeleton craftsmen.
Everyone on the deck looked around curiously.
“Is this the sunken ship? Can we eat what’s up there?”
“The sea, wow! It’s so vast, endless.”
“The air smells fishy, just like the fish soup we made last time.”
The maids scattered in every direction, forming groups and chatting.
No one was concerned about what work there might be.
Their curiosity was their first priority.
Eira and Little White, after looking around for a while, quickly came over.
“Master, is this the giant ship?”
Fang Hao nodded with a smile, “Yes, you’ll take them to mainly clean up those buildings over there, which we’ll live in soon.”
“Oh, okay, master,” the two replied and nodded.
Then they ushered the scurrying maids around to start allocating cleaning tasks.
After the maids left, Fang Hao called over Kulyn and several other craftsmen.
“Kulyn, lead the team to secure these cannons in the designated cannon positions in the ship’s hold.”
The second, third, and fourth levels of the hold were all designed to house cannons.
However, the original cannons had probably been moved by the merfolk, leaving only the empty spaces.
Now, Fang Hao had brought cannons to add some defensive armament to the ship.
“Yes, my lord.”
Kulyn agreed, signaling the Skeleton soldiers to move the cannons into position in the hold.
All hands were on deck.
Getting to their tasks.
…
At dusk, Fang Hao and everyone returned to the main city.
The Undead, not needing rest, went directly to their places to continue working.
Although the maids looked disheveled, they were still quite spirited.
They couldn’t stop talking about the sea and the giant ship.
Fang Hao stretched his limbs.
He sat down at the lord’s residence, waiting for dinner.
Ding.
The system notification sounded again.
Bai Xuan: “Lord Fang Hao, every morning, the fleet is expected to arrive over Giant Claw Island. Commander Haber has already issued the order to prepare for battle.”
It had been a week since Lyss City’s troops had set out.
They should be arriving at Giant Claw Island now.
