Chapter 1074: Chapter 682, Mediator
Bai Xuan’s territory.
Members of the group gazed at the stack of muskets and cannons filling the open space.
Their faces were filled with joy.
Xu Yuanhang, caressing a cannon, said, “With these fellas, we’ll definitely show those little devils.”
“Exactly, and with these muskets, we can scare them to death.”
Following that, someone else asked, “Alliance Hierarch, did you buy these from the Dwarves? This many must have cost a lot?”
The Alliance was really broke now.
Every day, Bai Xuan just traded for some meat pies to eat from the shops.
All the money was spent on buying materials to build a few high-quality ships.
It was only by relying on these ships that they were able to withstand the attacks of the fish people and gather intelligence.
Looking at the excited crowd, Bai Xuan said, “These were all obtained on credit from Fang Hao!”
The people playing with the muskets were startled.
Fang Hao? On credit?
Not bought from the Dwarves?
“Sister Xuan, what’s going on?” Xu Yuanhang asked.
Bai Xuan briefly explained to everyone about the affairs in the Trade Alliance.
Meaning, these weapons were all obtained on credit from Fang Hao, to be gradually repaid with seafood.
Bai Xuan continued, “When we get back, start arranging for people to train with the muskets and cannons, and let the fishermen catch seafood in the nearshore areas to repay Fang Hao’s debt.”
“Okay, Sister Xuan,” everyone responded.
Actually, it was nothing.
Being able to provide weapons to them in advance was already a huge favor.
Nobody else would have trusted them this much.
Everyone nodded and agreed, collected the weapons in batches, and went back to train and arrange for people to go fishing.
…
“Really?” Anjia looked at him seriously.
“Of course, really!” Fang Hao, with his arm around Anjia’s slender waist, continued, “At that time, Rolana also knew she had made a mistake and even said she felt quite sorry for you, and she felt so bad about burning your parrot.”
“Could she say that?” Anjia was somewhat skeptical.
Fang Hao earnestly said, “I wouldn’t have believed it either in the past, but haven’t you noticed Rolana has changed a lot? She used to never talk to people, and now she even holds meetings with the Undead and draws design plans!”
“That is true.”
“Now, with the Dragon Clan eyeing us covetously, we still need to rely on her to hold down the main city. Later, we’ll supplement the ‘Red General’ with some nutrients, and in a few days, the bald spots will grow back.” He gently patted her lower back, “You’re also the mistress here, give her some leeway, will you?”
Anjia struggled a bit, thought for a while, and then said, “We’ll see when the time comes!”
Actually, Anjia was quite easy to mollify.
Angry today, she might forget about it in a couple of days.
Now she had noticeably calmed down a lot.
“Yep, our Anjia is the best behaved.”
He hugged her tightly, giving her a couple of big kisses.
Anjia’s dusky skin instantly reddened a bit.
The couple were affectionate by the door for a while.
Anjia then got up, cheerfully entered the training ground, and continued training with the maids.
…
Back at the lord’s mansion.
Fang Hao did not see Rolana.
Just as he sat down, the Skeleton merchant Doujin came in right after.
“Lord!” Doujin, holding a scepter in one hand, bowed slightly.
“Yes, Doujin, is there something you need?”
Doujin stood in the middle of the hall, without any intention of taking a seat.
Speaking directly, he said, “My lord, I have come to deliver the received Slave Contracts and would also like to request an increase in the number of merchants.”
Saying so, he stepped forward and handed the Slave Contracts to Fang Hao.
Slave Contracts weren’t really anything rare.
But they hadn’t been needed for a long time in the territory, so they weren’t stocked.
Fang Hao took them, counted them—one, two, three, four contracts, with more to be procured.
“Do we not have enough people now?” Fang Hao continued looking at Doujin.
“Yes, my lord. Business in the Trade Alliance is very good now. Even though we do not need rest, we still don’t have enough hands.”
Fang Hao nodded, “Okay, then let’s go and recruit the people right away.”
“Yes, my lord.”
The two left the lord’s mansion and went towards the Trade Alliance building.
In the building, they recruited 505 Skeleton merchants in one go and handed them over to Doujin.
Then, they went to the Undead living area and built a large number of housing structures for daily rest.
Er…, the word ‘rest’ isn’t accurate.
Should say, for usage.
After sorting out the matters with the Skeleton merchants.
Fang Hao headed directly toward the Blood Prison.
…
Inside the Blood Prison, it was still damp and dark.
It was overseen by ‘Black Thorn,’ with numerous ‘Nisbit’ heroes stationed, guarding the various cages.
If any dragon attempted to escape, they would immediately send it off to the other world.
Fang Hao walked down the stone steps at a leisurely pace.
“Sir,” Black Thorn and several Nisbits bowed slightly.
“Yes, I’ll go in and take a look,” said Fang Hao.
Black Thorn nodded, leading several Nisbits and accompanying him into the cage.
Inside the cage, the silver dragon ‘Beata’ was still tightly bound, her face paler and weaker than before.
“Beata!” Fang Hao called out.
Beata kept her eyes closed, unresponsive, and did not look at him.
Fang Hao continued, “I was just told that among the captive dragons, several are worsening, and if this continues, they will soon die.”
Hearing this, Beata’s eyes snapped open, glaring at him furiously.
“What exactly do you want?” Beata gritted her teeth and asked.
“I’m also hesitating whether to save them or to continue this standoff,” Fang Hao said.
Beata took a deep breath and continued, “I’ll stay, just let them go!”
“Beata, do you think this is a game? You attacked my city, killed tens of thousands of my soldiers, and you still want me to just let them go!” Fang Hao’s tone rose sharply.
The Blood Prison was silent and empty, and their conversation traveled to each cell.
Whether it was the Dragon Clan or the still-imprisoned Aerygon, all could hear clearly.
“They’re dying, don’t release them, and they’re dead,” Beata screamed frantically again.
“Yes, I know,” Fang Hao took a deep breath, “I can’t just let the enemy go. On your behalf, why don’t you discuss it among yourselves, and if you can assure me that there will be no danger, I’ll arrange for someone to treat the seriously injured. If not, then there’s nothing I can do.”
“You, …” Beata was even more flustered but couldn’t articulate anything.
Fang Hao felt that he had said enough and said, “Alright, discuss it and I’ll come back tomorrow morning.”
With that, he walked straight out of the first cage.
Just as he was about to leave,
Deep inside, Aerygon’s voice came through.
“Mr. Fang Hao, when will you let me out? I pose no threat to you,” Aerygon immediately said.
The place was cold and damp, and he no longer wanted to stay here.
Fang Hao glanced into the dim depths of the dungeon.
Couldn’t see in which cell Aerygon was actually imprisoned.
“I’ll let you out when I need you.”
“Mr. Fang Hao, Mr. Fang Hao, you still have to provide food, right? I haven’t eaten since I was locked up here,” Aerygon continued to shout.
Fang Hao paused in his tracks.
He glanced at Black Thorn, the Undead in charge of the Blood Prison. Hadn’t they provided food?
“Black Thorn, give him two meals a day.”
“Yes, sir,” Black Thorn nodded in agreement.
After giving the orders, he walked outside, with Aerygon’s thanks echoing behind him.
Fang Hao did not directly choose the Dragon Clan’s Slave Contract.
Under such resistant wills, contracts cannot be forcibly completed.
Otherwise, anyone with a contract could go around capturing slaves at will.
It was more like an agreement that was only valid if the other party agreed.
Fang Hao said so much to Beata, also to convince her to persuade the dragons to not resist if they could avoid death.
…
Nightfall descended.
He returned to the lord’s manor.
In Rolana’s room, he saw her.
Still dressed in the blue gown from last night.
Seeing that she had no objections, he entered the room and sat down on the bed, smiling and asking, “What’s wrong, still angry? Anjia is just a child, why stoop to her level?”
Rolana leaned against the headboard, legs crossed, looking at him, “What do you want to say?”
Fang Hao moved closer, placing her long legs on his knees, “I just talked to Anjia, she misunderstood you, it was the Red General who accidentally bumped into her.”
Rolana did not stop his action, shifting her legs a bit more onto his knees, “So, did Anjia believe you?”
“True! What’s there not to believe?”
“Hmph! She believed, because you made up some tales again,” Rolana looked at him as if she knew him all too well.
Fang Hao did not deny it, “Alright, Anjia isn’t angry anymore, so don’t hold a grudge. She’s young and was raised in the Orc Tribe, cut her some slack.”
“Yes, I know!” Rolana’s expressionless face remained cold.
Fang Hao blinked.
Her tone was calm, but her quick agreement surprised him.
It’s a good thing if all is well, he thought, preferring not to say more to avoid potential misunderstandings.
With a slight smile, he took her hand and pulled her into his embrace.
Then he moved to seal her lips.
Rolana dodged left and right a few times, but finally, her lips were firmly sealed.
The two kissed for a while.
Fang Hao blinked and said, “Tonight, I’ll stay over, okay?”
Rolana’s brow furrowed slightly, a hint of hesitation on her beautiful, cold face.
Eyeing him, she asked, “Do you desire me?”
“Yes!”
Hearing this, a blush spread across her aloof face.
Glancing at the door, feeling it was safe,
She suddenly sat up, casually pushed Fang Hao onto the bed, lifted her skirt, and straddled his waist.
Fang Hao was startled. Was such assertiveness necessary?
Beneath the skirt were the bestselling Nightfall silk stockings, soft and smooth to the touch.
Her waist twisted lightly, bringing an indescribable warmth.
