1066 A Choice
“If it wasn’t for Mr. Fang’s help, the entire village would have died at the hands of the barbarians. The effect of spell affected the villagers. This time you have made a great contribution to the Empire. Tang Mo will report it truthfully to the Empire and will not treat you badly.”
[Hint: The player has successfully resisted the barbarian invasion. The reputation of the Empire has been raised to friendly. The Empire merit system has been activated.]
[Hint: The player has received 50,000 merit points.]
A row of exchange columns appeared on Fang Heng’s retina.
!!
After a quick glance at the exchange column, Fang Heng found that most of the items available for exchange were materials, weapons, and soldiers.
If he improves his friendship with the Empire again, he should be able to unlock more exchangeable items.
Eh?
Fang Heng’s eyelids twitched.
Fief?
He only needed 1,000 merit points to obtain a small piece of land from the Empire and become a lord. The lord had the authority to recruit troops and only needed to submit a tax to the Empire every year.
At present, the village had already been occupied by the sacred tree, so there was no way to transplant it.
He could consider exchanging it for a fief.
After becoming a lord, he might be able to avoid some trouble.
Fang Heng looked at the city wall and the village covered with vines behind him and said, “I’m afraid this place can’t be inhabited for a short time. I hope to apply to the Empire to become the lord of this fief.”
Tang Mo was startled and looked back at the village occupied by vines. He thought, “That’s strange, wasn’t this spell summoned by you? Right, it must have been an overload spell, so the spell went out of control!”
This kind of thing was common.
“Mr. Fang, you’re very benevolent.” Tang Mo’s expression became gentler and he said, “On behalf of the Empire, I pay my respects to you. You are now the owner of this fief, and the official appointment of the fief will be sent to you in three days.”
“In addition, these villagers are all citizens of the Empire. They will also be under your jurisdiction. If you are not willing to take over, I will arrange for them to evacuate as soon as possible.”
Benevolent?
The Empire guards and Ma Xiaowan looked at each other.
They thought of the terrifying undead creatures and evil rituals.
The Ninth Prince probably didn’t know much about this necromancer…
[Hint: The player has spent 2,000 Empire merit points and obtained the approval of Nanxi Village and the surrounding areas.]
[Hint: Your influence in the world has been slightly increased.]
“This area is not suitable for living. Please help evacuate the villagers.”
Fang Heng nodded with satisfaction.
This made the sacred tree a little safer.
Considering the worst-case scenario, he might not even be able to take the sacred tree away until the end of the trial.
Should he just leave the sacred tree Abe Akaya here?
After completing the trial, he would be able to get the space tearing blueprint. At that time, he would find a way to quickly upgrade the space tearing device and enter the intermediate game, then return to solve the transplant problem.
On second thought, this was too big a circle. It was a little unstable.
Even if he had the blueprint, the construction and upgrade of the space tearing device might encounter problems, and there was no way to guarantee the completion of the plan in time.
“I’ll get someone to help the villagers evacuate,” Tang Mo said to Fang Heng. “Mr. Fang, this time the barbarian army came menacingly. The main cities of the Empire were attacked by barbarians. Tang Mo beseeches Mr. Fang Heng to contribute to the Empire’s people.”
[Hint: You have triggered an optional main storyline mission-front line battle.]
Mission description: You defeated the barbarian army led by Almonta but the Empire is still under attack. Tang Mo has sent you an invitation to go with you to the front line city under attack to snipe the barbarian army.
Mission requirement: Defeat the barbarians at the front line.
Mission rewards: Additional game trial time and additional trial rating increase.
Fang Heng’s eyelids twitched.
To the main battlefield?
However…
Could he really fight the barbarians on the battlefield?
The Tier 3 barbarian was too terrifying.
He had only won by luck and managed to suppress the barbarian with the power of the sacred tree.
There was no way to transplant the sacred tree at the moment, so it was impossible to pull it over to fight.
Borrowing the strength of the vampires was not very feasible.
The Vampire King’s coffin had just been summoned, and the cooldown time began again.
Moreover, the Prince of the vampires had just been awakened from a dormant state and had just experienced a battle. Forcibly waking the Prince again would lead to a significant drop in combat power.
Furthermore, the barbarians were currently at war with the Empire, and it would be too late by the time his skills’ cooldown was over.
No matter from which perspective, rejoining the battlefield was not a good choice.
He could get some benefits, but not much.
Fang Heng revealed an embarrassed look.
The Vice President of the Mage Association, Wen Dun, who was standing behind Fang Heng, said in a deep voice, “Ninth Highness, I’m afraid you don’t know.”
“Losing control of the spell will cause great side effects. I’m afraid it will take a while to recuperate before he can recover his strength. The damage to spiritual power is not like physical damage. The damage from forced combat is even more terrifying.”
“Ah, I see. I was being rude, please don’t mind me.”
...
Tang Mo looked at Fang Heng with an apologetic expression.
There was such a powerful legendary mage who could contend with the entire barbarian army on his own. Tang Mo wanted to persuade Fang Heng to help the Empire.
Tang Mo’s face was sincere. “Sir suffered such a serious injury for the Empire and I feel uneasy. Why don’t you return to the Empire with Mingyue to recuperate? The Empire will definitely do its best to treat you.”
[Hint: You have triggered the optional mission-the Empire under the dark clouds.]
Mission title: The Empire under the dark clouds.
Mission description: Under the attack of the barbarians, the Empire is still shrouded in dark clouds. Please return to the Empire’s main city to conduct an in-depth investigation and try to trigger the follow-up mission.
Mission requirement: Find the follow-up mission.
The first thing Fang Heng felt when he saw the task prompt was inexplicable.
Then, he thought that this might be a hint from the game.
The starting point of the next phase of the main storyline mission was likely to be in the main city.
Fang Heng thought for a while and then shifted his gaze to Tang Mingyue and the others.
...
Tang Mingyue and the others also looked thoughtful.
There was not much use in staying here.
To the Empire!
There were more resources there.
For example, the purple essence! For example, more research materials related to the barbarian race!
From the start of the game until now, apart from the savage beast invasion, there were many strange hints in the pre-mission line.
Thinking about it carefully, there was still a lot more to explore in the main trial mission. If he wanted to get a higher rating, he had to start from this aspect.
Other than that, there was also the black stone that he had found at the bottom of the lake.
Fang Heng had just communicated with Qiu Yaokang. Based on what happened to the sacred tree Abe Akaya, when it first grew, he could basically conclude that Abe Akaya had absorbed the remaining energy in the black stone, thus achieving the effect of rapid growth.
Therefore, it was all thanks to the stone that they were able to defeat the barbarian army.
The stone was related to the main storyline. He might find more game tips in the main city.
