1016 Necromancy Mage
It was originally very difficult for the Lickers on the ground to take the initiative to attack the dragon mosquitoes, and their attack efficiency was very low.
Later on, under Fang Heng’s control, they immediately changed their tactics and stayed in place, waiting for an opportunity to make a move.
Whenever they saw a dragon mosquito that had been knocked out by the fusion Tyrant forms, they would pounce on it and madly bite it, tearing it to pieces.
[Hint: Your zombie clone (Licker) has killed a dragon mosquito.]
!!
[Hint: Your zombie clone (Licker) has been pierced by a needle and is immune to the poison state. Its HP has been reduced to the limit and cannot be further reduced…]
Fang Heng looked at the game hints that appeared on his retina.
After waiting for a full two minutes, he couldn’t help but secretly sigh in relief when he saw that no game hint of his zombie clones dying appeared.
Fortunately, the dragon mosquitoes only had a single physical damage output and were simply unable to kill the fusion Tyrant forms.
“The dragon mosquitoes are afraid of water, and they will never leave the Cesar Forest area. As long as we cross the river, we will be safe.”
“Really? There’s such a thing?”
“The shop owner told me that. I don’t think he has any reason to lie to us.”
“Then let’s try it.”
Fang Heng and Mo Jiawei hid in the river and discussed for a while. Then, they returned to the other side of the Cesar Forest.
Sure enough, as soon as they returned to the other side of the river, the dragon mosquitoes turned a blind eye to them. They only attacked the zombie clones on the other side of the river.
The two of them looked at each other.
This was strange.
Why didn’t these dragon mosquitoes catch up?
Were they afraid of something?
Or was there someone controlling them from behind?
Fang Heng thought for a while and took out two bottles of coffee from his backpack. He handed one to Mo Jiawei and found an empty spot to sit down.
“Let’s take a break.”
“Yes.”
The two of them just sat on the ground, drinking coffee slowly while calmly watching the zombie clones kill monsters.
Originally, Fang Heng was happy to do so.
This was his hack. He had always played the game like this, and it had almost become his body’s instinct.
If it were any other time, Fang Heng would most likely go offline at this time and have a round of fun, then come back after a while to check the spoils.
But this time, he couldn’t do so.
After waiting for more than 10 minutes, Fang Heng stood up after gulping down the second can of coffee.
“Old Mo, something’s not right.”
“Ha? What’s wrong?”
“We can’t kill them all…” Fang Heng forced a smile.
Although there were more than 200 Lickers, and the fusion Tyrant forms were also very powerful, their killing efficiency was still not high.
The large groups of dragon mosquito swarms in the Cesar Forest were simply too crazy.
After killing for more than ten minutes, the mosquitoes were still densely packed, or rather, even more than before.
If they kept killing like this, they probably wouldn’t be able to exterminate the mosquitoes even if they spent a night.
Normally, it didn’t matter. At most, he could just go offline and wait for a while longer.
However, this was a trial mission, and they had a time limit.
This was troublesome.
Should he continue to just let the hack run?
Fang Heng scratched his head and couldn’t help looking in a certain direction in the distance.
The human mercenary camp.
Would it be better to cooperate with those humans and use the strength of the mercenary groups to launch an attack on the dragon mosquitoes?
He had to make some sacrifices.
Fang Heng gritted his teeth and made a decision.
He had to complete the mission quickly, as he still had to head to Hani City to complete the main mission before dawn.
“Let’s go. We’ll leave the zombies here. Let’s go and see if we can get the mercenary groups to help.”
“Alright,” Mo Jiawei nodded and quickly followed.
…
In a temporary meeting room in the human camp, the higher-ups of the major mercenary groups were talking one after another, and the atmosphere was quite lively.
However, the deputy commander of Tianli Mercenary, Ma Xiaowan, let out a long sigh in her heart.
It was too difficult!
Tianli Mercenary had already been here for more than half a month.
During this period, they tried countless methods and various means, but they still could not deal with the dragon mosquitoes in the Cesar Forest.
It was just…
There were simply too many dragon mosquitoes, and they could fly.
If it wasn’t for the fact that the dragon mosquitoes were unable to cross the river for some unknown reason, they would have long given up.
As time passed, mercenary groups of all sizes came and went.
On the contrary, Tianli Mercenary had made some money by building a large camp here, more or less making up for some of their losses.
Tianli Mercenary was famous throughout the Mahert Empire.
Many of the smaller mercenary groups had joined Tianli Mercenary after their initial failure. They had been following Tianli Mercenary’s lead and had only hoped to get a share of the loot after the mission was completed.
Tonight was another routine discussion meeting.
Many of the mercenary groups that were huddling together for warmth proposed yet another whimsical idea.
As they were discussing, a guard came in from outside, “Commander Ma, there are two people outside who claim to be necromancy mages. They want to see you.”
Upon hearing the words “necromancy mage”, the group that was in a heated discussion suddenly fell into a strange silence.
The atmosphere instantly became a little tense.
The guild leaders in the camp looked at each other, feeling wary.
Necromancy mages?
The people born in the Mahert Empire had been instilled with a concept by their elders since young.
The appearance of necromancy mages meant disaster.
This was especially so when necromancy mages came to their doors.
The disaster would be doubled.
Great, everyone was going to be in trouble.
Not a single one of them could escape.
Moreover, they couldn’t refuse to meet such necromancy mages.
According to the older generation, if one refused to meet with a necromancy mage, the vengeful necromancy mage would use all kinds of evil ways to make things difficult for them.
In short, necromancy mages had already been labeled as ominous in the hearts of the people of the Empire.
The crowd shifted their gazes to Ma Xiaowan.
Ma Xiaowan frowned. She had naturally heard of the rumors about necromancy mages and was extremely surprised.
Necromancy mages were mostly unsociable and evil beings, rarely appearing in the Empire.
Why did two suddenly come to her?
Was the appearance of the dragon mosquitoes related to the necromancy mages?
Since they couldn’t escape anyway, they might as well meet them and see what the other party’s goal was.
Ma Xiaowan was on high alert and said seriously, “Let them in.”
Five minutes later, Fang Heng and Mo Jiawei, who were wearing masks and grey robes, entered the room.
On the way, Fang Heng carefully observed everyone.
First, they needed to confirm if there were any players in the mercenary group.
If they encountered any suspicious targets, he would ask Mo Jiawei to use the investigation technique and check them out.
Sensing the uneasy gazes of the crowd, Fang Heng found it strange.
What was wrong with this group of people?
Why did none of them dare to look him in the eye?
Fang Heng simply looked around at the crowd, then turned his gaze to Ma Xiaowan, who was sitting in the main seat. He said, “We’ve accepted a commission to clear out the dragon mosquitoes at the entrance of the Cesar Forest from a business owner. If you want to cooperate or help us, we are here to look for Tianli Mercenary.”
Hearing Fang Heng’s words, everyone became quiet for a while.
Necromancy mages? Accepting the commission and seeking cooperation?
It didn’t seem real no matter how they interpreted it!
