Chapter 23: First Sense Of Dragon : Eye of Domination
" Kill To Kill."
He then opened his palm. A vertical pupil surrounded by two different irises appeared in the center of his hand. This eye looked at each opponent in turn in a frenzied manner.
< First Sense Of Dragon : Eye of Domination >
Everyone the eye looked at saw their chi become erratic. The energy pierced their flesh from the inside and their skin began to necrose and rot in just a few seconds. Several lancers fell to their knees screaming. They scratched their own bodies in an attempt to stop the pain.
Daemon disappeared from his position in an instant. He reappeared in front of a lancer and planted his claws into the man’s shoulder.
"Kill!"
He pulled downward with one sharp motion. The entire arm detached with its muscles torn.
The lancer screamed with all his strength: "AAAAAAAHHH! MY ARM!" Blood spurted in powerful pulses from the severed shoulder.
Daemon threw the torn arm aside and struck the man in the face.
"You have an ugly face..."
His claws went through the cheek and tore off part of the jaw. The lancer collapsed while screaming even louder, blood filling his mouth.
Daemon immediately pivoted toward the next lancer. He grabbed the wrist of the man who was trying to plant his spear.
With a quick movement, he pulled the arm toward him while pushing the shoulder with his other hand. The arm dislocated then tore at the elbow. The forearm and hand fell to the ground along with the spear.
"Nooo! Stop! AAAAHHH!"
"Kill Y-ou"
Daemon sank his claws into the exposed belly and pulled upward. The lancer fell to his knees holding his open abdomen and continued to scream until his voice disappeared into blood gurgles.
Daemon grabbed a leg that was rushing toward his face and twisted it into an abnormal angle.
"My leg! Give me back my leg! AAAAAAHHHH!"
He twisted it and tore the entire leg off at the hip.
The blood flowed abundantly into the red snow. Daemon stepped on the man’s back and planted his claws into the other shoulder. He tore off the second arm. The man’s screams became weaker as he bled out.
The ground was becoming a mush of snow, blood, torn limbs and organs. The screams followed one another without interruption. A lancer attempted one last desperate attack with his spear. Daemon seized the shaft, broke it with one blow and planted the remaining pieces into both of the man’s thighs. Then he grabbed each leg and tore off both thighs at the same time.
The man’s howls were the loudest: "MY LEGS! I CAN’T FEEL ANYTHING ANYMORE! AAAAAAHHH!" He writhed on the ground while looking at his stumps.
Daemon moved quickly from one enemy to another and seemed to delight in their screams of anguish...
Daemon walked slowly as the leader crawled trying to get away.
"No... No... Please... Do not kill me..." begged the leader, his voice broken by terror.
Daemon placed a foot on the leader’s chest to immobilize him. He bent down and sank his claws into the leader’s shoulder. He pulled slowly. The arm detached gradually in a long scream... The leader screamed nonstop while Daemon threw the arm aside. He repeated the operation on the other shoulder. With both arms torn off, the leader screamed face down in the dirt, blood forming a new puddle around him.
"You are a monster! You are the one with the mark of the beast!" shouted the man while pointing at the number engraved on Daemon’s arm.
"Kill...I Came To Kill."
He plunged his hand into the leader’s ribcage without the slightest hesitation, and he pulled out his still-beating heart, which he dropped on the ground like simple garbage.
"Daemon, stop!" Luna shouted.
Daemon slowly turned toward the voice, and he saw that one person was still alive: a weakened but standing silhouette. He advanced toward her, his claws still dripping with fresh blood.
"Daemon, it’s me! Snap out of it, you bastard!" she tried one last time.
But Daemon had no reaction. His black eye showed nothing but a pure thirst for destruction. He suddenly appeared in front of her, so close that she could smell the blood on his face. Behind her back, she firmly gripped the dagger she held hidden. At this distance, she would have had time to stab him right in the heart.
’After all, it would be for the best,’ she thought. Daemon had the mark of the beast. He was a monster.... She just had to raise her hand and plunge it in.
But instead of stabbing him, she embraced him...
"Master? What are you doing?" Daemon asked, his voice perfectly normal.
Luna raised her head and saw that Daemon was looking at her, completely confused, and that he was perfectly normal. His eye had returned to its usual color as had his hair, but his right hand still retained its sharp claws.
"Are you okay?" she asked softly.
"Uh... Well, apart from the fact that you are hugging me a bit too tightly and my right arm is itching, I am fine," he replied with a slightly embarrassed laugh.
Daemon quickly looked around, seeing the mutilated bodies and the carnage he had caused.
"Hahaha, you saw your disciple in danger and you came to save him. I knew you were not heartless, Master."
But Luna remained silent. She looked at the remains that littered the ground for a long time and clenched her jaw without saying anything.
"You do not remember anything?"
"My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I think these guys attacked me to prevent me from fighting Lord Conrad," explained Daemon while scratching his nape. "They were from the Spear Clan."
"I see..." Luna replied simply.
She then took clean bandages from her bag and bandaged his right arm. Even though this arm had returned to normal in appearance, it still kept its sharp claws, and she knew it was not a coincidence.
"Make sure to always keep this bandage," she ordered in a firm voice. "Your arm is seriously injured. Do not remove it in front of anyone."
Daemon nodded.
"I know you care a lot about me," he said with a mischievous smile. "But are you not a bit too violent? You even tore out that guy’s heart. It is a bit excessive, no?"
