Hidden within the folds of space was Immortal Nimrod’s avatar, and he was stalking Jacob like a hunter with patience. As for how Immortal Nimrod was able to found this place despite Jacob using the Gluttony Mask, it was only known to Immortal Nimrod.
Furthermore, he didn’t seem to be aware of Alexandra’s presence yet, as he impassively stared at Jacob entering the cosmic gateway of the Verdantia Life Galaxy.
However, just when Immortal Nimrod was about to follow, he was stopped in his tracks as his eyes flickered with astonishment because, unlike the Matriarch Ephyra, he could clearly ’see’ and felt what just happened.
The next moment, the cosmic gateway was destroyed, but Immortal Nimrod didn’t seem to be flustered by it. If anything, he appeared slightly ecstatic as a shrewd light flickered within his void like sockets.
Although he still didn’t notice Alexandra’s presence, Destin Saint’s cautious move to destroy Jacob’s exit route turned out to be the exact mistake that revealed Destin Saint’s presence to Immortal Nimrod because Immortal Nimrod was probably the only existence that was most familiar with Destin Saint’s power.
’Well, well, Destin Saint, you just won’t give in, do you? But even you wouldn’t have except that your little trick just now had revealed your presence, and even an idiot could deduce that you are after the Cursed One.
’But trying to get the Cursed One before me? You’re underestimating me too much! Today, even if I have to suffer from the backlash of the Zodiac Plains, I’ll get the Cursed One!
’However, since you’re already here, I’ll let you toil my burden and capture the Cursed One. As for destroying the cosmic gateway, do you think I won’t be able to get inside? Naïve!’
Immortal Nimrod sneered with derision as he merged with the space current, then easily found the dissipated space channel of the cosmic gateway, and, like a space current, he flowed into it like space itself.
This action could even make someone like Destin Saint put a lot of effort into completing it, but Immortal Nimrod was doing it without any hint of discomfort.
Even for Mythical Beings, it was impossible because if by some impossible coincidence a cosmic gateway was destroyed, the ’false space’ would turn into a part of the Zodiac Plains, and merge the elemental planet or elemental galaxy back within the Zodiac Plains after thousands of years.
Within a second, Immortal Nimrod had found the ’false space’ of the elemental galaxy. Instead of exiting through the cosmic gateway, he shifted his path and hid himself within the space of the Verdantia Life Galaxy.
Furthermore, Immortal Nimrod was using some mysterious methods to make himself seamlessly one with the space.
Since Destin Saint was unaware of this avatar of Immortal Nimrod, he wasn’t able to detect Immortal Nimrod until he showed himself and caught him off guard, while almost ruining everything for the former.
Right at that moment, Immortal Nimrod’s expression suddenly went blank before returning to normal.
However, this subtle anomaly didn’t go completely unnoticed because of how powerful Immortal Nimrod was, but still, he couldn’t pinpoint the source of this anomaly. For some mysterious reason, a hint of uneasiness rose from the depths of his soul.
’What is this? Is that bastard Destin Saint going to make a move?’
Although Immortal Nimrod was right, he didn’t even consider that he had just experienced the Winter of Past, and right now, he was re-living his past without any knowledge about it.
On the other hand, his mortal enemy, Destin Saint, had already devised a plan to counter Immortal Nimrod, not to mention the knowledge about Immortal Nimrod’s biggest secret, as well as probably his only weakness!
Immortal Nimrod’s confusion and wariness turned into excitement when he thought about how Destin Saint was going to make things easier for him by capturing the Cursed One, and he would finally get what he had been waiting for countless years.
However, what happened next flabbergasted Immortal Nimrod, and absolute fury overwhelmed his very being, because he suddenly felt that familiar sensation for a fleeting moment before the next instant, Jacob vanished!
’He fled!? Just like that, he FLED!?’ Immortal Nimrod was on the verge of going berserk because Jacob’s action just now was too cowardly.
After all, in Immortal Nimrod’s view, even though the destruction of the cosmic gateway would raise some alarm, Jacob was fully capable of handling any situation within the entire middle plains, so he should’ve at least stayed to see what had actually happened.
But Jacob seemed too cowardly, and at the first sign of discomfort, he decided not to risk anything. He fled without even considering his initial goals, abandoning all the effort he had put into reaching this point.
However, for this exact reason, Immortal Nimrod knew that hunting Jacob wouldn’t be easier, especially after what Destin Saint had done last time.
’I’ve lost another precious chance after going through all the trouble to finally pinpoint his location...’ Immortal Nimrod wanted to explode and destroy this entire space.
Still, he controlled himself because now he knew he wasn’t the only one who was capable of tracking down Jacob.
A ghastly killing intent flared in his eyes as he scanned the space, ’It’s all that bastard’s fault for doing things so clumsily. Furthermore, I need to be wary of his next move and make sure he won’t get to Cursed One before I do, or things will turn complicated for me. It’s good that I was able to detect his existence before it was too late...’
While Immortal Nimrod was adjusting his plans while berating Destin Saint, the former didn’t know what kind of impact Jacob’s so-called ’cowardness’ had left on the latter’s mentality, almost pushing him to the verge of insanity because everything seemed too unrealistic.
If Immortal Nimrod knew, he would’ve been the first one to gloat, but at the same time, he would’ve become even more wary of Jacob because even he wasn’t able to escape the Winter of Past!
