Alexandra was astounded by this revelation, and she felt she had heard something ridiculous as she questioned, "Hunting down the Cursed Ones? You mean the heirs of UGS before this guy?"
"Yes, his predecessors were all hunted down and killed by the same entity." Destin Saint solemnly acknowledged.
"Who is this entity?" Alexandra asked with a stern tone, "If that entity can hunt down this Cursed One, wouldn’t it be better to leave it to this entity in the first place?
"Furthermore, if this entity is such a threat, you can simply let him fight the Cursed One, and once they’re done harming each other, you can simply swoop in and get rid of both of them."
Alexandra stated that while she found Destin Saint’s actions more mysterious and strange, while downright ridiculous at the same time, she couldn’t figure out his real intentions at all.
"Hoh, your suggestion is indeed feasible and sounds very good, but Miss, there’s a reason I can’t allow that entity to come anywhere near the Cursed One anymore." Destin Saint calmly replied, "Although no one knows when that entity started to hunt down the Cursed One or what purpose it actually had to go to such lengths."
A faint killing intent surfaced in Destin Saint’s tone at that moment, "However, I was able to confirm that every time this entity successfully hunted down the Cursed One, it grows stronger at a terrifying rate.
"Right now, it’s strong enough to resist some of the most powerful entities of the Zodiac Plains, and if I confront this entity in its own domain, I can’t do anything, nor can it do anything to me.
"This is a stalemate going on for countless eras until this Cursed One appeared again, so you might be able to understand my plight. This entity had already begun its hunt for the Cursed One, and it almost succeeded, but I intervened promptly and stopped it; otherwise, the Cursed One might have been the tiebreaker.
"If that were to happen, the entire Zodiac Plains will be in danger of getting ruined by this entity!"
Destin Saint didn’t mince his words, as he also seemed to respect the terrible entity he had been battling for countless years. Still, for that exact reason, he also feared that entity, or at least that’s what Alexandra felt for a vague moment.
Nonetheless, Alexandra finally understood the reason behind Destin Saint’s schemes to hunt down the Cursed One, and why he went to such lengths to even seek out her so she could help him in taking down the Cursed One before that entity would.
Yet, she still didn’t fully trust Destin Saint or believe that he was doing all of this for a noble cause, such as to protect the order of the Zodiac Plains.
’What did I get myself involved with? If that entity is really hunting down the Cursed One for so long and the Cursed One is essential to plans and probably increasing this entity’s power, doesn’t this mean I have offended this entity and meddled in something I shouldn’t have?!’
At that moment, Alexandra felt a chill run down her spine because she suddenly felt Destin Saint had not only used her against the Cursed One, but he had also dragged her into muddy waters unknowingly.
After all, if he were really sincere, Destin Saint could’ve told her all of this from the start instead of hiding it all this time, and only now revealing it when she had already helped him subdue the Cursed One.
’If that entity found out about it, wouldn’t I be hunted down the same way? Since even this guy can’t do anything against it, I’ll be dead if this entity decides to come after me...’
The more Alexandra thought, the more she felt Destin Saint had taken advantage of her, and to further make the matter worse, he dared to reveal everything without any hint of fear that she might retaliate against him.
However, the reality was that even though Alexandra knew all of this, she couldn’t do anything to Destin Saint because she neither had the power nor the confidence to go against an entity like Destin Saint, who had the power of Destiny at his disposal.
Moreover, he was an ancient and formidable monster who had probably mastered his UGS while she was still an infant in his presence. She even had a feeling that Destin Saint revealed everything to her, knowing that she wouldn’t dare to do anything even if she figured out his true intentions.
Moreover, by revealing that entity to her, Destin Saint was probably telling her indirectly to choose a side.
But it wasn’t a choice because she had already offended that entity by meddling in this affair, and even if she left, Destin Saint might play some tricks to reveal her participation in hunting down the Cursed One to that entity.
At that moment, Alexandra felt she had fallen in Destin Saint’s trap, which was well crafted and woven by the latter, so she couldn’t escape, no matter what she did.
’This guy is terrifying! Now, I have no choice but to rely on him, and by doing that, he can order me around even without doing anything. And he dared to say that he can’t control the heir of a UGS?!’
Alexandra now felt as though she had awakened in a nightmare, and it might just be the beginning of the horrors.
However, there was still something that Destin Saint probably didn’t know, and the whole reason Alexandra participated in this endeavor despite knowing that she was going against an heir of a UGS.
She couldn’t help but grit her teeth and unwillingly said, "Since that’s the case, I guess I have no choice but to help Sir Destin since I’m also a native of the Zodiac Plains. But who is this entity and where does it come from?"
Destin Saint didn’t seem to notice the indignation behind Alexandra’s words or pretended to be obvious; instead, he appeared shocked and moved by Alexandra’s words as he said...
"You will? Then I would like to thank you on behalf of the entire Zodiac Plains, and everyone should follow your example. Don’t worry, as I promised, I’ll help you in any way possible to grow, and it won’t take long before you reach the same heights of power as I and become one of the protectors of the Zodiac Plains.
"With your help, I’m sure we can deal with that degenerate since we have already cut his path of ascension any further as long as I sealed the Cursed One and won’t let him die."
Destin Saint sounded very passionate before his tone turned somber as he revealed, "This entity has many names but among people like me, this entity is known as the Immortal Nimrod, as for where it came from, it’s the...Universal Void!"
