"Can anyone tell me where the Champion King has run off to?!"
Sensing the fury in Blood Doom King’s voice, no one dared to speak up, and they truly had no idea where the Champion King went with his Shattered Star Cruiser.
Blood Doom King’s expression sank further as his bloody eyes glowed with killing intent before his eyes focused on a vampire sitting not too far away from his position.
"Nightingale, where did your leader go?!" Blood Doom King coldly questioned without even addressing the Nightingale King with his title.
The Nightingale King, one of the overlords of the Evanesce Hub, who was once a runaway of the Vampire Race, has returned to the Vampire Race. Still, not willingly, instead, he was dragged back by the Champion King with the Corrosion King to be his proxies since the Champion King couldn’t bother to take care of everything himself, nor did he think his crew should handle these small matters.
Although the Blood Moon King was Nightingale King’s brother, the former despised him for becoming a star pirate. When the Nightingale King appeared, the Blood Moon King ignored him, leaving the Nightingale King both relieved and bitter.
Now, under the Blood Doom King’s fierce glare, Nightingale King panicked slightly and glanced at his good brother, the Corrosion King, for support, but to his dismay, the latter quickly pretended to look at his feet and play dumb since he didn’t want to prove the Blood Doom King, who was like a ticking time bomb lately.
’Just where did Overlord run off to!? Leaving us in this mess and sticking our necks in the war between the Life and Dead Factions was truly a wrong move. Even if you held a grudge against the Zodiac Warrior Alliance, at least don’t drag the Evanesce Hub into it.
’The Overlord even forced everyone here to sign a soul oath contract. I truly envied the Butcher King who escaped under the pretext of being on an expedition. I should’ve listened to him...’ The Corrosion King thought bitterly as every day he felt like his life was in extreme danger.
But he can’t escape because of the Champion King and his eerie power that he had acquired out of nowhere. However, because of the Champion King’s power, it also posed a deterrence to the entire Dead Faction that even the Blood Doom King seemed to be afraid of him.
Yet, now that the Champion King had suddenly left, the Blood Doom King was the strongest not because of his Legendary King Rank but because of this castle, which could increase the Blood Doom King’s power to a ridiculous degree while suppressing anyone the Blood Doom King deemed a threat, even a Legendary King.
Only the Champion King seemed to have the power to suppress the Blood Doom King despite the support of this castle, but the other legendary kings did not have such an advantage.
Moreover, the Life Faction was eyeing them like bloody hounds, and if any legendary king dared to leave this castle alone, they would be ambushed by the Legendary Kings of the Life Faction.
Two legendary kings of the Dead Faction have already died in this manner. If the Champion King hadn’t slain their Legendary Kings, the Life Faction would have attacked this place with overwhelming power long ago.
That’s why the Champion King was so crucial to the survival of the Dead Faction, which made the Blood Doom King furious and secretly fearful after the Champion King suddenly vanished.
If this news reached the Life Faction’s ears, they might take this opportunity and directly attack them to finish them off, so the Dead Faction’s top commanders present in this throne hall were trying their best to suppress this news.
"I-I don’t know where the Champion King went, your majesty." The Nightingale King replied with an apprehensive look, and when he sensed the killing intent in the Blood Doom King’s eyes intensified, he quickly added, "B-but...I think Champion King has gone to fetch the Dark Wing and others, his subordinates. They might’ve encountered some trouble."
Blood Doom King’s expression softened, but only slightly, as his killing intent and frustration remained unappeased, for as long as the Life Faction remained, eyeing them like prey.
Now, Blood Doom King really wished that the Fiend Race hadn’t massacred and the Ghost Race’s entire power were still intact. Only now did he truly understand that his race was only enjoying all the benefits collectively with the Ghost Race and Fiend Race.
Without all of them combined, the Life Faction gained a considerable advantage and was on the verge of losing its stronghold. They even had to bow down to mere star pirates to keep them afloat, which was extremely humiliating!
Taking a deep breath, the Blood Doom King impassively questioned, "Can you contact the Champion King? I tried to reach him earlier, but I couldn’t get hold of him."
Nightingale King’s expression turned gloomier as he shook his head, "I also tried various times, but I also wasn’t able to get in touch with Champion King. Maybe they are in hyperspace or somewhere with limited single range?"
Everyone glanced at the Nightingale King with disdain as they all knew he was purely making things up, and unless the Champion King had entered some extremely powerful domain or space, they shouldn’t have lost contact with them.
Just when the Blood Doom King was about to fly into rage again, a powerful, imposing voice, filled with righteousness and gallantry, suddenly reverberated throughout the Castle of Crimson Dusk and its vicinity.
"Champion King! I, the Giant War King, Chairman of the Zodiac Warrior Alliance and Supreme Commander of the Life Faction’s righteous army, and most importantly, the honorable War Giant Chief, invite you to an honorary duel between warriors!
"I’ll wait for you in the middle of the battlefield in 12 hours! Let’s settle our scores, just you and me!
"Do you dare to come!?"
Everyone in the hall was dumbfounded and bewildered when they heard the familiar voice of the Giant War King. They all thought that it was too coincidental!
The Blood Doom King’s expression was almost pitch black as he gritted his teeth and muttered, "They know!"
